A leading manufacturer of high-end architectural and decorative lighting contacted Air Purifiers, Inc. to design and install multiple dust collection systems for its new manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, New York.
Project Completion: Winter 2026
System Manufacturer: American Air Filter (AAF) / Movex
Equipment Installed: Three AAF ArrestAll AR6-25 Dust Collectors with HEPA After-Filtration and 45 Movex ME100 Extraction Arms
Total System Airflow: 18,000 CFM
System Design & Installation: Air Purifiers, Inc.
The manufacturer specializes in precision-crafted lighting products requiring extensive hand finishing, buffing, polishing, and sanding to achieve the exceptional surface finishes associated with luxury lighting fixtures.
With the development of its new facility, the company required a comprehensive dust collection solution capable of capturing fine airborne particulates generated during these finishing processes while maintaining a clean, efficient production environment.
Manufacturing high-end lighting fixtures involves detailed finishing operations where quality, precision, and craftsmanship are critical. Buffing, polishing, and sanding generate fine dust and airborne particulates that must be effectively controlled to protect the manufacturing environment and prevent contamination of finished products.
The facility required a centralized dust collection system capable of serving 15 individual workstations, each accommodating multiple finishing operations.
Because of the precision nature of the products being manufactured, the customer also required a high level of air filtration, including HEPA after-filters capable of capturing extremely fine airborne particles.
The challenge was to design a system that would provide effective source capture at each workstation without interfering with the detailed handwork performed by skilled technicians.
Air Purifiers engineered and installed a comprehensive dust collection system consisting of three American Air Filter (AAF) ArrestAll AR6-25 dust collectors, each rated for 6,000 cubic feet per minute (CFM), providing a combined system capacity of 18,000 CFM.
Each dust collector was equipped with a secondary HEPA after-filtration system rated at 99.97% filtration efficiency, providing an additional level of particulate removal beyond the primary dust collection equipment.
The three dust collectors were connected through a carefully designed ductwork network serving 15 individual finishing workstations throughout the manufacturing facility.
Each workstation was equipped with three Movex ME100 extraction arms, for a total of 45 individually positionable extraction arms.
These arms allow technicians to position extraction directly at the point of dust generation during buffing, polishing, and sanding operations. The flexible extraction arrangement accommodates the intricate shapes, varying sizes, and detailed finishing requirements of high-end lighting components.
By capturing dust at its source, the system is designed to minimize the migration of airborne particulates throughout the facility while allowing technicians to perform precision finishing operations without unnecessary obstructions.
The combination of high-capacity centralized dust collectors, HEPA after-filtration, and strategically positioned extraction arms provides a comprehensive solution tailored to the demanding requirements of precision lighting manufacturing.
The completed installation provides the lighting manufacturer with a high-capacity, multi-system dust collection solution specifically designed for precision finishing operations.
The three AAF ArrestAll dust collectors, combined with 99.97% efficiency HEPA after-filtration, provide an advanced filtration arrangement designed to control fine airborne particulates generated during the manufacturing process.
With 45 Movex extraction arms distributed across 15 workstations, technicians have the flexibility to capture dust directly at the point of generation while maintaining the accessibility required for detailed, high-quality craftsmanship.
The system supports a cleaner manufacturing environment, helps reduce airborne particulate contamination, and contributes to maintaining the exacting finish standards expected in the luxury architectural lighting industry.

This project highlights Air Purifiers’ ability to design and install sophisticated, multi-unit dust collection systems for manufacturers where precision, product quality, and effective airborne contaminant control are essential.
